UCLA offers a wide range of courses on population and reproductive health for MPH and other students who wish to study human fertility, health and mortality and related areas - such as gender, women's health, family, and sexuality -- from a population-based perspective. Most of these courses are available in the School of Public Health. A few are offered through other departments. Students who take these courses will become familiar with the determinants of reproductive health, international and local policies influencing population growth rates and promotion of reproductive health, and programmatic initiatives and challenges. They will develop competence in: needs assessment and evaluation, program design and management, critical review of research, technical writing, materials development, statistics and policy making.
